Obligation to the future
There are Klais organs on every continent. They sound in churches, in cathedrals and in concert halls; in cities as well as in villages.
These organs are living history, they link the past with the present and also our own time with the future. building history from the past 110 years with all its changes of sound, style and function. Despite these changes there always remains one basic demand - determined by the founder, Johannes Klais: to find the best solution for any organ and to realise it with the highest possible quality.
Dedication of everybody involved is required, as is their willingness to do their utmost.
The organ has to serve church, parish, composers, performers, visitors, for concerts. The organ builder must serve the instrument, its religious and cultural tasks. The size of the organ is of no significance, the artistic goal always remains the same. However, there is no limit to the ways this may be achieved.
A church organ lives for liturgy and church music
A concert hall organ, on the other hand, must be able both to stand apart from a symphony orchestra and to blend with it. There are numerous concert hall organs by Klais in use worldwide. Through building organs for the church and the concert hall Klais is able to cros fertilize his ideas. It is his aim to gain from this experience for the future.
There are organs from past eras that have proved capable of withstanding the judgement of history. It is both a commitment and an obligation for us to create such instruments.
